Thom got his first camera in 1978 and has been passionate about photography ever since.

Thom uses his camera and photography as an excuse to be outside. He has images from many parts of the world in all seasons. He loves to take pictures of action sports and is often seen on his motorcycle with all his camera gear tied on.

As a photographer with thousands of slides he has enjoyed the creative opportunities that digital photography has allowed. Recently he has delved into the printing of his own work and has enjoyed the challenges and opportunities to learn that this has brought.

Along with his landscape and wildlife work, he does weddings, family photographs, and donates his time and expertise documenting a number of local community events.

He has been published regularly in editions of Parry Sound Sideroads magazine as both a photographer and writer since his retirement.
